Melanie Parr as Alice, staged in the Charters Towers Studio Theatre.
(Who is the White Rabbit?)

'I never left Bush Davies! ' Mel is often quoted as saying; she started at the age of 6. Her home was close to Charters and during her highly visible and successful 30 year career on the stage she would regularly be seen at the back of classes between jobs, and sometimes during a run of a production, keeping herself fit. A versatile and reliable performer she was equally at home in musicals, plays and pantomime. She played the original Gretl in The Sound of Music; Gone With the Wind at Drury Lane; Hans Anderson at the Palladium; Salad Days at the Duke of York. She was regularly in repertory at the Redgrave Theatre, Farnham; Citizen's Theatre, Glasgow; Haymarket, Leicester; Theatre Royal, Windsor; Sally Bowles in Cabaret at Bristol Old Vic and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the Genée. Her TV appearances included 'specials' with Sammy Davis Jnr and Wayne Sleep with Derek Griffiths. She would always be seen driving her open-top red MG with the ubiquitous bottle of Lucozade at hand.
