I was there!
What a wonderful site.  I have often searched for news without much success of what happened to Charters Towers.  I was so excited to have been accepted there in 1956 and have always been proud of being a Bush-Davies girl.
I lived in The Cottage with Lyndall, Tamaris and ‘Tich', along with my still close friend, Elaine Carr.  I was amazed to see myself in a photo with Rosemary Finlayson, Anna Hauser and Ann Harrison.
Mine were the days of Miss Gwen and Miss Nield, the delightful Mrs Russell, Ted and Muriel, Nancy Lawson, visits from Jane,  Miss Bush's little Yorkshire terrier…..
For Miss Bush herself I had nothing but admiration and respect.  I was so happy learning from her.
I was delighted to see how much involvement Lyndall had in this project.  Please give her my love and best wishes and tell her, I have had a charmed and happy life!
Best regards,
Tricia (Ritchie) Kinkead
(Ed. Tricia has sent in a photograph of class in the hall in 1958. You'll find it on page 5 of Charters Part One.)

Subject: Memories
As I grow older, I realise how special our years at Bush Davies really were- I am now in touch with several of my year, and I have to say that the bonds are stronger than any others, and that these people will have a precious place in my memory for ever - sounds a bit dramatic maybe, but, hey - I'm just being honest

Regards
